A quick comparison of two silver shatter polishes from my collection.
Chi Chi Silver Crackle and OPI Silver Shatter.
Quite a big difference between these two shatter polishes, the Chi Chi is less thick of a formula than the OPI and also a much lighter silver with whitish undertones, where as the OPI has black undertones making for a more pewter look.

In my opinion Pirouette My Whistle is the absolute STAR of the New York City Ballet Collection. This is a delicate, dreamy, whimsical glitter polish with tiny silver glitter and larger hex white glitter dancing around in a clear base. It looks amazing over each and every sheer polish in this collection. I think I just found my new fav glitter polish.
For all of these images I used three coats of the sheer polishes in the New York City Ballet Collection and one coat of Pirouette My Whistle. The differences are so subtle that only nail polish addicts would notice them! lol, but my favs are over Don’t Touch My Tutu and My Pointe Exactly.

Revlon Silver Dollar is one of those wow polishes. A silvery matallic polish that makes your nails look like they are made out of chrome. Very smooth formula and two coats was all I needed to get full opacity and you can get away with just one coat too. I really liked this, wearing this polish I felt like I had molten mercury on my nails, very cool.

Revlon’s Popular is a re-release of what was previously known as Starry Pink. This is a unique, pretty light baby pink with silver micro glitter and larger silver hexagonal glitter. This has a very milky look to it, must be the baby pink over the silver glitter which creates that strange effect. I think this is quite a cute polish for when you want something a little bit different but not too out there.

Just got my hands on the OPI Not Like The Movies from the Katy Perry Collection. I was really looking for something that had that oil slick look to it. That pretty iridescence that shifts with the light. It is a base grey with flashes on pink, purple and green. It has a very pearl like quality.
Super sheer at one coat:
Three coats was perfect opacity for me. Such a nice formula, dries fast and goes on smoothly. I couldn’t stop looking at my nails all day! Love how the color changes from silver to purple to green depending on how the light hits it.

I tried OPI’s Black Shatter over the top, looks quite cool.
and then I added a cute lilac glitter with little hearts by Jordana (673 Lilac Hearts). Jordana nail polishes are great and very cheap!

Sally Hansen GEM crush Glitz Gal is a gunmetal grey microglitter in a clear base combined with larger silver holographic glitter. Overall I really like this polish, it is dark and subtle but the holographic silver glitter lends it enough bling to add excitment.
Super sheer at one coat.
Two coats and this might just be me but I am feeling that opacity is not even from nail to nail. I think rigorous bottle shaking is necessary, lol.
Everything evens out at three coats, very nice polish. I feel so glamorous with this.
Three coats of Glitz Gal with a top coat and I’m set. Various images in different lighting. This polish has fabulous dimension to it with the depth of color changing depending on the light. Very beautiful!

Sally Hansen’s Showgirl Chic from the Gem Crush collection is made up of fine silver micro-glitter with larger blue glitters in the mix. The effects are quite striking. This glittery nail polish dries pretty fast too.
At one coat it goes on quite opaque, that silver micro-glitter really covers the nail.
I am happy with the coverage of Showgirl Chic at two coats. I feel tempted to leave it here,I really like how this looks.
Lets try three coats and now I really am starting to feel like a Showgirl! I am glad I did it, the effect is really stunning.
And three coats with a top coat to smooth things out.

This sultry silver is the real deal.
Not Like The Movies from the OPI Katy Perry Collection is a beautiful iridescent silver with shimmering purple, green and blue the color depends on how the light hits the nail. This is very sheer with one coat but with patience and the application of about 3-4 coats you are in for a gorgeous wonderful nail polish color.

A silvery white shimmer that sparkles in sunlight and under lights. Glass-fleck microglittered polish sparkling iridescence at it’s best! Very sheer, need about 3 to 4 coats to make it more opaque. This is a great polish to add as a top coat over other colors for a different effect.

A beautiful frosty finish in a light silver. Not a sheer polish but spreads easily and is quite thin, you will need a couple of coats.
